MISS WORLD 2017 INTERACT WITH  300 NDMC SCHOOL GIRLS ON MENSTRUAL HYGIENE MANAGEMENT CURRICULUM”

New Delhi – February 6, 2018

While interacting with the girls students of NDMC schools on the theme of “Menstrual Hygiene ManagementCurriculum”, Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar called upon the students that the three components namely Education, Equality and Empowerment play an important and pivotal role in moving the country forward in respect of unbeatable in every aspect.
She had been interacting with over 300 girls students and lady teachers of NDMC schools at NDMC Convention Centre here today.

This event has been organized by the NDMC in association with Miss World Organization under the “Beauty with purpose” mission led by Chairperson, Ms. Julia Morley.

Miss World said that menstruation is a natural phenomenon and now it is neither any dirt nor a taboo or shame for personal, family and society. And added that the use of sanitary pads and Do’s and Don’ts should be discussed with openness, so as to make hygienic and healthy life of women fold.
Advocating the use of eco-friendly sanitary napkin pads, she said that one should practiced the jute sanitary pads as these were more natural having fiber and easily available in India and other parts of the world.
Underlining the importance of change of mindset of the society in respect of girl child, she said that it was the need of the hour to spread happiness working with a purpose, intension with truth, faith in destiny and no hidden purpose with a purpose of life.
Exhorting the girls students Ms.Chhillar said that this message of menstrual hygiene should be taken to your friends so as to spread it across the society.  
In his welcome address Chairman, NDMC, Shri Naresh Kumar said that it was a matter of privilege and pride that not only for NDMC, but also of New Delhi where World beauties had wished to visit for a purpose under the “Beauty with Purpose” Mission. The New Delhi is the heart of the country and seat of the IndianGovernment and any message spread from here, there is no doubt that it would be definitely reach every corner of the country and overseas as well.  This innovation would go a long way in dispelling the myth and breaking the taboo about the female hygiene and health.
